Learn about church music copyrights
Cher & Gene Klosner (pronounced KLOZE-ner), originally from Omaha, Nebraska, have been involved with church music since elementary school. After studying at UNL and UNO, the brother and sister team relocated to Nashville, Tennessee where they furthered their education and experience in the business of music, songwriting, copyrights, record labels, distribution and music publishing. Cher and Gene spent several years composing Mass Settings and introducing them at individual parishes around the country. They relocated to Los Angeles, where they continued to introduce their music and were offered a position to form, build, direct, and compose music for several choirs - youth, teen and young adult - at Our Lady of the Rosary parish. The resulting “Upon This Rock” choir has performed for events on the East and West coast.
Cher and Gene have recorded three c.d.’s and are presently in the studio working on their next recording. Their songs have been recorded by other artists as well, and are heard on radio stations nationwide. They continue to compose, and direct “Upon This Rock”, as well as their newly formed “Light the Fire” Choir in Omaha. Presently, Gene continues to reside in Los Angeles, and Cher resides in Omaha.
